Giant Road Bikes are produced by the Giant Bicycle Company, which was started in Tachia Taichung in 1972 and born from an OEM producing bikes for other top branded cycle makers such as Nishiki Bikes and Schwinn Bikes. Giant Bicycles grew greatly from 1986, when Bill Austin new Giant Bicycles Company president created the Giant Bicycle brand initially targeting the $200+ bike price range.
Giant is one of the largest global bike makers and has always aspired to produce high quality bikes at good prices. Giant Bicycles are sold in over fifty countries through 10000 + outlets and cycle shops worldwide. In 2007 Giant bike sales exceeded $820 million with 5 million bikes produced and sold.
